Colombia’s main stock market will extend its trading sessions by three hours in 2011 to match with New York’s closing bell, The Wall Street Journal reports. The move will bring Colombia’s stock market in line with international standards as it integrates with stock markets in Peru and Chile.
The Colombian Stock Exchange will end at 4 p.m. local time rather than its current close at 1 p.m. and Colombia’s opening bell will remain at 9 a.m. local time. The closing time for Colombian stock market trading will have to be adjusted in March as Colombia does not change its clocks for daylight savings.
