The police force in the UK is one of the most diverse and interesting organisations to work in. It is incredibly interesting and simply full of people for all areas of the country, all religions and ethnic backgrounds. For this reason and many others, many people may wish to take the police initial recruitment tests.
For the right kind of person, working for the police could be an incredibly rewarding career move. There are many advantages to working with the police to be gained and they are not just financial. Although on a financial note, the salary is really very fair indeed and there is a pay increase for a number of years as you gain more and more experience. Job security is also relatively solid and the pension arrangements are very good indeed after you retire at the earliest age of 55 years.
This is a very good deal and certainly not one to be sniffed at during such times of economic hardship. The job of being a police officer also has many other benefits which are related to the job in itself. Police officers have the opportunity to make a real difference in the communities to which they get posted and this is very encouraging in many cases.
